FORGIVING THE UNFORGIVABLE

Age seems to bring about a lot of things. Growth for one teaches me that I can forgive...but never forget/fully trust associates, friends, family, society and yes... politicians (always been my thinking). I've found that we are so judgmental of one another, but not one bit of perfect ourselves (human syntax error). We are all perfectly flawed in one shape or form, therefore we cannot be judge, jury or executioner to someone else. I remember the saying, "point a finger...three more points back at us". We all will feel a certain way as we should, but at the end of the day...we aren't God, nor do we hold the Book of Judgement and all are inclined to make mistakes (maybe once...but not habitual). Almost a month ago, I wrote a blog about Roseanne Barr...sighting that she deserved what she got an only apologised  because her show was cancelled and it affected her income. Let me be clear about something...her comments were disparaging and racially charged, but who are we to judge someone else's faults, wrongdoings, or shortcomings. It is practically up to her to change her ways, life and thinking. I will go on record and say..."I forgive you, Roseanne." I don't know you personally, but I am African American man who has seen, heard and dealt with racism...and the comments made were very offensive. However, this is considered a teaching moment and I hope she embraces it and wish her well in bouncing back. For starters, she should donate to BLM or spend time in the black community...not for media/TMZ or to show face, but to get to know us better than she does. We can all learn from our mistakes, but forgiveness is the ultimate key to betterment of ourselves and others. #osmosisthoughtz

NINE.ONE.ONE (the premonition)

Do you believe in premonitions? I can truly say that I do. Circa, 1999 2000, was my first brush with the numbers 9-1-1. It was weird seeing the numbers daily...straightforward, no mixing whether it was clocks (a.m./p.m.) license plates, reading material, etc. 911, was poison to me as I tried to figure out what the numbers meant. Did it mean something tragic/good? Was it meant for me/someone close? I had no clue...and like that...it was gone! That is, until September 11, 2001...we need not discuss what happened as I'm sure we are all aware. Many may find this weird as I've only discussed with approximately five people...and I still do not feel comfortable telling anyone. Fast forward to this day in time...9/11 is starting to happen again. I have been experiencing the same "symptoms" as before, but too afraid to speak on it as I feel I'll be labeled as "weird" or (knowing the government) having some connection to a tragedy that may come...I'm writing my thoughts today in hopes that another tragedy does not come and that God continues to bless us all! Praying for positivity in 2018. #osmosisthoughtz

ACAPELLA VS. INSTRUMENTAL

Music...what do we really hear? Do we listen to the beat, the lyrics or both simultaneously? A beat can be hypnotic...it sways our bodies, minds, souls...left to right, back n' forth, side to side controlling our minds, producing vibe, connecting our minds to dance in lines...it induces hormones, pheromones, fertility and symphony when making love. However, when we listen  acapella...we tend to slow down...and think. We decipher each word as if codified behind the beat...when the feeling from words is mixed between the instrumental, which causes a chemical imbalance to nerves connecting mind and spine. If we took away the instruments...how much do we listen verses hearing the words? Does it inspire facial expression, tears, smiles, laughter and capture the good of what we really listen to...verses what we hear? Does it connect us like snap, claps, drums, hi hats? I ask, because we are human...and illusion is our preferred way of thinking. Let us broaden our minds a bit...how much do we listen to one another? The media and society ("sources") are instraments or let's say traffic...that blinds us from real truth, giving us alias...rather than facts. It becomes loud, amongst crowds...yet if we took the time to relate between persons, rather than "sources"...the world would be less angry and more willing to compromise. Like music...the volume is turned up and we tune out the real message and we refuse to listen to the true gems, which come about. Fact is...we are all guilty of mixed messages and the distinction between the truth and untruth. We've got to be better. #osmosisthoughtz

AFRICAN PROVERB

“Until the lion tells his side of the story, the tale of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.” Powerful words as one tells their side to a story and it's the only one "listened" to...as the other side, suffers in silence as the world judges. #osmosisthoughtz

A MILLION...N' 1

In my lifetime, I have seen how negativity seems to forecast its shadow over positivity. It is amazing how the world turns when you make a mistake...I have seen good people lose their careers, fame, finances, family and even their lives, due to making one mistake. Sometimes they are immediately forgotten from the minds of those who saw them do a million things right. For example Michael Vick was a philanthropist, NFL Pro Bowler...one of the elite up and coming quarterbacks in the league. However, when most see him now...DOG FIGHTER, immediately becomes his handle. With that said, it should/does not matter if you are black, white, purple, green or gold...the world will call it as they see it, because they either think they are perfect and cannot do any wrong or become so judgmental, just to have something to talk about. For me, that is a sad episode to go through and judgemental folks will have their day in court too. It is a challenge, but the key is to never give up...days may get tough, but keep pushing. Those close to you may turn their backs, but it is those who remain supportive and close...who are true family and friends until the end. #osmosisthoughtz
