LETTER TO THE SEPARATE-US (SUPREMACIST)

I am...a man
I am a...black man
With skin opposite yours

Some say
You may
Not like me
But that's not my problem...it's yours
Opportunity
Of equality
Should grant an open door
Blood...sweat...tears...Lord knows our sacrifice
How hard is it to accept us or understand our uncommon plight
How would you feel
To feel
What we feel
Maybe you'd think twice
Yet you hate
Straight
From your
Core
And feel that it's alright

My ancestors never asked to come here...they were kidnapped to these shores
Unwillingly
For slavery
Bought n' sold for choirs
Yet, say we don't belong here n' to go back 'cross the seas
Again...never asked to be here...before
You state beliefs

Proclamation 95
Derived
From freedom cries
Opened doors to Civil Rights
Jim Crow wanted separation between the blacks and whites
Day n' night
Colored
N' unbothered
Our father, which art in heaven
Still seeking
Dreams
Of Dr. King
Remember?
No judging color...skin
Folks are in...
Content...character...D.C.

Witnessed by thousands faithfully

I am...a man
I am a...black man
With skin opposite yours
My heart bleeds red...sweat drips from pores
Work hard yet subject to class
As outcast
Alien
Yet, like you I am
American
More or less, a human
Being
More or less
What you believe
I still
Will
Achieve
Without you...there's still me

I only ask
That
Personally
You...the Supremacist...
Narcissist
To your kind
Open eyes shuttered blind
Study history
Necessary
Your blasphemy
Unnecessary
Adversary
Hatchet bury
Defuse hate
Communicate
To relate
Even though outward we
May appear differently

Supremacist
Religious
To your kind...I too am
American
Born here...
Therefore free
My ancestors never asked to be here...I beg you
To
Open eyes to
See

I am...a man
I am a...black man
More or less...a human

MAKE AMERICA GREAT...WHEN?

Funny how racism/discrimination still exist in 2017...utter disappointment to find storylines of this caliber. To be more specific...to see news of demeaning storylines of how folks have portrayed Serena Williams and our former FLOTUS as apes or men in heels...which is not cute at all. Lemme address something and you are more than welcome to share it. Hello neighbor, it is time folks wake up and see the ugliest side of what we are...some may act as if racism does not exist, but I can tell you that it does and it is something we  cannot continue to turn a blind eye to. When we talk of...making "US" great again...please tell me was it the days of Jim Crow Laws? Civil Rights Marches? Assassinations of great leaders? The Birmingham Church Bombings... ohhhhh wait...wait...I get it...we were great during the Black Wall Street massacre? The murder of Emmett Till to the death of Trayvon Martin...to excessive force from "the force" etc., etc......I don't understand nowadays why are folks downgrading others of different color, gender, religion? Is it because of their  success or because those that choose to hate...hate themselves more???? I mean, we have to address the 5 Ws in this discussion because I want to know who has the answers to racism/discrimination? When does it stop? Where do we start to make it end? Why should we be the ones to make a difference and What do we gain...if we continue to lose ourselves as a nation that continues to say God first or in God we trust? I don't understand, but what I do know is we must start by taking a closer look into the mirror now to be better and make "US" great...period! #osmosisthoughtz

MOVE YOUR ARS

It's funny how folks are bashing the hell out of President Obama and addressing his shortfalls (reminder...with help of Congress) rather than giving credit from past to present...and that our country is in a better state, than it was 8 years ago. I won't deny that we have a long road ahead of us as we have a new POTUS, who we are all praying for and wishing success to (remember, if he fails...we fail together). However, folks keep talking about "Make America Great Again" (really πŸ‘‰πŸΏπŸ˜), "Great Again" (really πŸ˜‚) or President Obama divided us (really, really🀣). Folks, please get it together and understand your part as you are  making these "comments" (public, social media, etc.). Be mindful that it takes more than just the POTUS involvement! Bottom line...what are YOU doing to make a difference? We as a people have gotten so selfish that we are losing our identities and we've become divided, branded, packaged, and sold as poor, middle class, and rich rather than looking ahead to help ourselves or others appearing as "crabs in a bucket"! How about this...move your "ars"...speak positive and do more than "claim" a side (some of you sound like gangbangers). It takes more than just a bumper sticker, T-Shirt, or echoing your favorite slogan and using despairing comments as you're wasting time...waiting for air time. Some of these folks have the loudest mouths, but are not doing anything to help anyone become better...kinda, makes your thoughts irrelevant...doesn't it?

CLIFF NOTES 2017 (MLK)

Today, we celebrate a leader who marched, fought and loved us enough to do what it took to blur the color lines of segregation in America. However, no matter how we sugarcoat it, I believe that racism still exist, maybe not as big as it was prior to the Civil Rights Movement, but we've come a long way, and there is still work to be done. A couple of years ago...I hosted a poetry venue and spoke on the topic of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. leading into intermission commenting as such: Black History (BH) as I (and many) have found that you must study/research BH...to know BH. While some may read, there are others who do not. Therefore, if looking for visual cliff notes or an entertaining way to understand the story of MLK and Malcolm X...watch the X Men movie series. I remember eyes widening amongst the masses as I continued to speak...In the movie you will find the opposition of views between MLK (Professor X) and Malcolm X (Magneto), which are similar storylines of both leaders. 1.) Mutants (blacks) segregated from humans (whites) 2.)both were friends, no matter their differences of beliefs...3.)Malcolm (eye for an eye)...MLK (make peace)...etc., hopefully, this paints a slight picture for all who read this post. I'm no genius, nor do I claim to know more than the next, but to pass on anything to help others learn...I'm 100% for it. I remember walking away that night and going home to research as I was curious about the storylines of both fictional characters to find that its original creators had patterned their storylines after MLK and Malcolm X. (Sigh of relief to back my claim as I'm not into selling false thoughts πŸ˜ƒ). A huge thank you to Dr. King and those who led protest from John Lewis to many others and  for believing in unity amongst us all. Alive or deceased...they are all the real MVPs and showed the true meaning of "lives matter" no matter the risk or endangerment (corrupt police officers, barking dogs and fire hoses) they experienced. The leadership they provided means a lot. Folks, remember to live, laugh, and love...but most importantly take the time to watch, learn and grow...yourselves and others. Never forget to have patience as change takes time to come. Many blessings to you and yours. #osmosisthoughtz

2016

Lengthy...but last blog of the year for me was worth writing:

2016...wow, where do I start...it's been an up and down year for me...relationships, friendships and associates (oh my)...etc., (through death, pure disagreements or unsatisfactory) have helped me grow...fun fact is...I am still growing...WE are still growing as imperfect human beings. We tend to fall apart yet the key to life is how we put ourselves back together again. Humpty Dumpty...we know the story right?!? A reminder as we survive these last few hours heading into 2017 is to remain positive through storms and remember that another persons troubles may be greater than yours. In addition, be mindful that different people are placed within our lives as puzzle pieces to help us build n' see life's bigger picture for what it is. I am no genius, but life's experiences is a game of Tetris...either the pieces will fall into place or not. You make the decisions that control your life but with each that you encounter you learn a valuable lesson (win/lose) of how to utilize them going forward to grow and help others. Not a day goes by, that I do not ask what is my purpose? How am I here to help others? For most that know me, I can be stubborn (Taurus...take no bull 😊) and will inquire if the nonsense is nothingness. Just call it like I see it (hurt your feelings...sorry (not sorry) πŸ˜‚, yet...not a mean guy and love to joke/share laughter...if ever wrong...there's never an issue with apologizing. Finally, if you need me...I can say that I try my best to be there and if you want an honest opinion I am entitled to be truthful, even if irritates/ticks you off (again, sorry...not sorry). However, this does not mean I am insensitive to anyone's feelings, because I do care (contradicting or not...that's just me) enough to tell you the truth. Overall, thank God for allowing me to have a circle of friends/mentors no matter how old (or young) they may be...that I can turn to for difference of opinions to address any flaws they may see. I pray that he continues to work on me as the New Year comes to fruition. May you all be blessed and thankful for every breath you take and know there is meaning to your life as you develop yourself and others in positive growth or manner. Smile people....cheers...and Happy New Year to all! Make 2017 your year of betterment and accomplishments...do not talk it...walk it!
