KARDASHIAN

I'm angry...I feel like sometimes these kids wanna live like Kardashians
N' the point we're trying to preach is past them...

Like...we owe them...they don't cherish us...
N' have missed the bus
Completely...living life in a rush
Unherald of forefathers
N' mothers...ancestor
As generations
Become
Parents to society of gimme...or get jacked...
Or you're supposed to have my back
Without realizing
Sacrifices made...to shelter, feed and put clothes on their backs...

N' all we ask...is that they behave
Set standards for themselves when we're not around to engage
Like, where did we go wrong with prioritizing
Silver linings???
Showing them...that the world has problems
But it's up to them
To figure each one
To compartmentalize n' become
Their own
Champion

Like...where did we allow mannerisms to walk out the door
To accepting yeah...naw...rather than...yes, no sir ma'am
Please...thank you...or you're welcome

Have we taught our children that life is dandelions n' daisies
Or it's okay to be lazy
Without showing them that tough love
Is punishment followed by a hug

Where have daddies gone from raising their children
To mommies...feeling it's okay to accepting nothingness
As consequence
Rather than understanding it takes a village to raise a child's confidence...
N' to make this less
Sexist
There's father's filling roles...in motherless homes

We've compromised ourselves...
Acting as if we are parents of the year...
With high hopes...expectations...that our seeds grow in colleges n' universities n' establish careers

We have to...teach them
To become
Second to none
Other n' conquer
Their fears....
Make dreams reality...
Make us proud to shed tears

Our children feed on reality shows
N' nicknames w/ money associated within
Knowing damn well...the truth is...their lives is less Kardashian

Society...wake up neighbor...
Teach our children to love themselves from within...
Teach them...that every bully wears a grin...
Show them that ownership
Is ethic
In characteristic
Skin deep
N' that everyone we meet...will not always be friends...

Life is not of a Kardashian...nor a party sans The Weeknd
We are dumb to think freedom is free
Teach them to earn their keep...as the years go by...their ageless eyes will see...
Eventually the message we speak...
Will be theirs to use to mentor...the  eyes of their children, their future of whom...now ancestors we be...
